The Entrance Exam (High School Placement Test) is administered to students who wish to enter the ninth grade at Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School in August 2021. Catholic high school exam review books are available in most bookstores. Results of the Entrance Exam will be used to determine placement into standard or honors courses.
School gates will be opened at 7:00 a.m. Students should report to the gym at the northwest corner of the campus. Students will be released at approximately 12:00 noon. Pants and long sleeve shirts are recommended. Students should bring two #2 pencils. Calculators drink bottles, and snacks are NOT permitted.
STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE TEST ROOMS ONCE THE TEST HAS BEGUN.
The full application for admission must be completed and submitted to the Admissions Office at the time of Entrance Exam registration in order for the student to be considered for admission. For students enrolled for the entrance exam, report cards and standardized test scores will be obtained by Archbishop McCarthy through an admissions department request to the student’s current school.
