The Office of Campus Ministry is advised by the Chaplain, and is headed by the Director of Campus Ministry. The office seeks to work with the entire school community in developing and implementing the spiritual purpose and mission of the school by offering each student an organized spiritual program, which with God’s grace, leads to a closer encounter with God. The Office of Campus Ministry will organize liturgies, coordinate retreats, and promote service and community ministry. A Campus Minister is always present on the campus.

SPIRITUAL PROGRAM
At Archbishop McCarthy High School, we believe that all education must lead to the development of a mature faith, and a concrete and personal relationship with Jesus Christ through his Church and sacraments. Emphasis is placed on instruction in the classroom, a common prayer life, participation in the Sacred Liturgy and the sacraments, community ministry and Christian service. The spiritual program includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- School will include a daily school-wide prayer and Pledge of Allegiance. Participation by all students is required.
- Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel each day at 7:15 a.m.
- Masses will be held on all holy days and various times throughout the school year. All students are required to attend monthly all-school Masses. Parents and alumni are invited to attend.
- The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available during the school year, and during the seasons of Advent and Lent to the entire school.
- Community ministry service hours are required for all students each year they are in attendance at Archbishop McCarthy High School.
RETREATS
The retreat program affords students the opportunity to deepen their faith, prayer life and communal spirit by attending on and off-campus retreats, days of reflection and recollection that are Christ-centered, sacramental and service oriented in nature.

- LIFE (Living In Faith Everyday) – The mission of this group is to bring Christ to the world by providing a Catholic, community-centered environment for high school youth. LIFE is rooted in community, prayer, and challenges us to live life fully. LIFE is open to Juniors and Seniors and meets on a bi-weekly basis on campus. All who join are invited into a deeper personal and communal faith through a variety of dynamic experiences.
- God’s Property – This is a youth group aimed and geared at Freshmen and Sophomore students. It is a group that focuses on students’ spiritual development at the earlier stages of high school. Basic bible study, leadership building, listening, and presenting skills are learned and exercised in the group.
- Exceptional Theater Company (ETC) – The Exceptional Theater Company is a campus ministry club that assists the special needs community in expressing themselves through drama and theater. Our students act as “shadows” for special needs individuals in the community. The club is open to students from all grade levels. The ETC is dedicated to helping others through community service.
